About

Arindam Paul is the pen name of a long-time expatriate who spent decades living and working in Tokyo — not as a visitor, but as someone who made the city his home. He is a painter. He speaks the language — not just Japanese, but the subtler dialect of a culture that does not reveal itself easily to outsiders. Over many years, he built the kind of quiet, trusting relationships that allowed him access to a world most foreigners never glimpse. ‘Tokyo Call Girls: An Erotic Exploration’ is his attempt to translate that world honestly — with curiosity, without judgment, and with genuine affection for the people inside it. He believes that desire is one of the most human things there is, and that the women in this book deserve to be written about with the same care and complexity as any character in literary fiction. In another life, he also paints portraits — because he has always been more interested in understanding people than in simply watching them.

He lives quietly. He writes the same way.
